| From the participation of DAS in the Exulans project a collaboration was formed to carry out a UAV project.
Sparked off by a competition within DAS, where different teams have to design and build UAVs that compete against each other in
fulfilling a certain task, the JetEye team was formed. Due to the experience and expertise with small jet engines, parachute
recovery systems, light weight composite material design and manufacturing, model development, etc. R.J. Huyssen as approached
to be appointed as chief designer. The JetEye is a jet-powered reconnaissance UAV that autonomously flies along a pre-programmed
flight pattern into a field, taking aerial photos before returning to the designated landing spot to land using a parachute. |
